"Kath's Job List"

When planning an adventure, especially when one has a partner, one can allow promises to flow from the tongue with ease to get the idea over the line! In the early stages of planning there is a lot of time before the adventure is due to commence and the promises mount up with the thought “I can do that no problem, I can fit that in then and that then” and so on. The promises made are actually things which are quite unsavoury in reality, so when the planned time for a particular promise is required to be carried out there is always an alternative activity to be engaged in. This goes on for quite some time and the promises begin to mount up and the time for them to be carried out begins to diminish. This, added to procrastination in the planning stages of the adventure, tends to bring one to a point where there may not be enough time to complete either. Both parties, the promiser and promisee, are then at odds due to differing priorities. It is at this point that long buried statements are brought to the surface, “you promised……, this holidays you said you would….., it was going to be finished by……”. Guilt requires an attempt to be made to complete the promised jobs and a couple of extras for placation. Does this work?? Not so well, and a few more promises must be made for the return!!!
