Tanks Half Full Black Dog Ride Fundraiser Send Off

In came the very professional guys from Adelaide Hills Party Hire http://www.adelaidehillspartyhire.net.au/ , up went the marquee and in went the tables and seating. Dave and Jen Marsh, having hosted a party each year for as long as can be remembered, were totally struck by the their professionalism and great condition of the equipment compared to companies used in previous years. On top of that they donated the use of the gear to the Black Dog Ride event. Thanks guys!!!

Up went the lighting, in went the band equipment and on display went the myriad of high quality donated prizes for the raffle. There were 20 in total ranging from a set of pearls for that special night out to a squid easy cleaning kit for the avid fisherman. Before long all was ready for the big event.

7.30pm on the 20th Feb the party goers began arriving in an absolutely stunning array of costumes depicting the countries that make up the Americas that were going to be traversed by the Tanks Half Full team.
There was Evel Knievel, Captain America, Gauchos, gangsters, rappers, Buzz Aldrin, Day of the Dead, The 3 Amigos, Red Indians, cowboys and even the Statue of Liberty. There was also a reported sighting of a Donald Trump supporter or was that Donald promoting himself??

The Dad’s band started up and all the golden oldies pounded through the amps and speakers, the drink flowed and hunger was staved off with the delicious goodies that were brought by all.
At the end of the first set a few words of thanks were said by the host Jen, then Nic said his thanks and explained a little about the Black Dog Ride, its recipients, and the importance of raising awareness of depression and suicide prevention.
Nic and Paul finished off with an explanation of what they were attempting to achieve through the ride and the proposed route.

Another set from the Dad’s band, more food, drink, dancing and the selling of raffle tickets ensued. The band was cheered as they left the stage to make way for Nic and Paul to run the raffle. With so many generously donated prizes it went on for some time! Many, many happy winners were seen heading off with arms full at the end of the night and the wobbly boots on, it is not sure if that was due to the weight of winnings or a little too much happy juice!!!

The headline band (sorry Dad’s Band) Filthy Lucre, fresh from a tour on the east coast of Australia and recent trip to the States to record their first album, came on and totally rocked the house. https://www.facebook.com/filthylucremusic/  www.filthylucre.com.au/
The night was an incredible success with around $3200 being raised through donations on the Everyday Hero page, donation box, raffle and $5.00 from every Filthy Lucre album sold. Massive thank you has to go to Dave, Jen, Shane, Patty, Greg and Lyn for getting together and deciding this year’s party was going to get behind Tanks Half Full and The Black Dog Ride. Big thank you to Dave and Jen for hosting the party at their home. Same goes for all the wonderful people for donating raffle prizes and of course all the party goers who generously donated and bought raffle tickets, and will spread the word regarding the cause!!!

The boys have got a lot to live up to and the word is out, there is no turning back now!!
